As a captain of commercial and recreational vessels for twenty years, and before that a deckhand working with captains dating back to the Prohibition era, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about what is important, and what is not, in the operation of watercraft.

I can teach you to navigate your vessel confidently in any weather, and how to make repairs and troubleshoot mechanical problems, so you can bring your boat home alive instead of on the end of a towline.

On an assisted passage, I can show you watchkeeping skills, and passage-making mindsets, that will enable you to take your sail or powerboat over the horizon with comfort and ease.

I will deliver your boat safely to Block Island for the weekend or to Florida or the Caribbean for the winter.

Experienced crews are available to captain all types of boats, from fishing boats to tugboats and luxury yachts - for a day, a week or a month – whatever meets your needs.

I have the knowledge and practical experience needed to spot mechanical problems while underway, preventing small issues from becoming big expensive problems.

I promise that your boat will arrive at its destination in better condition than when it left!
